Bingo Glossary A-B
- Auto-Bingo - Game function where the software automatically calls 'Bingo!' for you if you win.
- Auto-daub/auto-dab/auto-play - Game function where the software automatically marks your cards as the balls are drawn.
- Auto-purchase - Game function where the software automatically purchases cards for you when a new game starts.
- 'Best order' function - Game function where your cards are re-ordered after each call so that the ones nearest to Bingo are at the top.
- Bingo Balls - The balls with numbers that are called out.
- Bingo Cards - The cards with your numbers printed on it.
- Bingo Chat Slang - Learn your bingo chatroom acronyms from Bingo Help.info.
- Bingo Patterns - See 'patterns'.
- Bingo Specials - See 'specials'.
- Bingo Touraments - See 'tournaments'.
- Blackout - A game where you must mark off all the numbers on your card to win (aka coverall).

- Caller - The voice calling out the numbers as they are drawn.
- Card - Your Bingo card!
- Catch-up - Game function which when clicked instantly marks your cards for all the numbers that have been called so far.
- Chat games/chat specials - Novelty games, often free, which are organised for Bingo Players who are currently in the chat room.
- Chat room/chat window - The area on your screen where you can enter messages and read other peoples' chat.
- Chat Room Moderator/Chat Moderator - Staff from the Bingo site who oversee and organise the chat room and chat games.
- Chat shortcuts - Buttons you can click to enter common chat messages.
- Coverall - A game where you must mark off all the numbers on your card to win (aka Blackout).
- Cyber Bingo - Slang for Online Bingo Hall, a new trend in bingo that is sweeping bingo communities by storm. You no longer have to go anywhere to play. Now, so long as you have Internet access you can play Cyber Bingo from the comfort of your own home...
Bingo Glossary D-I
- Dauber/Dabber - The pen you use (or rather the virtual pen in this case!) to mark off your numbers.
- Double Hardway - Bingo in two straight lines on the same card without using the free space.
- Emoticons - Buttons you can click to show emotions in chat messages eg smiley faces.
- Free space - The centre square on the Bingo Card, which has no number to mark off.
- Game board - Grid of numbers with those that have already been drawn out highlighted in some way.
- Game Variations - Different ways that a game can be played, such as... Double Bingo, Triple Bingo, Coverall, Progressives and Hardway. Each variation has specific rules, which are listed in your game program.
- Hall Ball - First number drawn at the beginning of the bingo session.
- Hardway Bingo - Bingo in a straight line without using the free space.
- Inside Square - A small-square bingo pattern. Player must mark all the numbers surrounding the free space in the I, N and G columns.
- Jackpot - A big prize usually awarded by winning on a difficult pattern, such as the blackout, in a specific number of balls.
- Minimum Buy-In - The minimum dollar amount you must spend to be eligible for prizes.
- Money Ball - A number drawn before the game that doubles your winnings if bingo is called on that number.
- Outside Square - A large-square bingo pattern. Player must mark all numbers in the B row and O row, and the top and bottom lines on the same card in order to win.

- Patterns - The arrangement of squares you need to mark off on your card to win the current game.
- Pattern Bingo - A specified pattern you need to cover on the bingo card in order to win the game, such as Letter X, Letter T, or Blackout.
- Pre-purchase - Game function where you can order game cards in advance.
- Progressive - Jackpot that increases after each game until it is won.
- Progressive Jackpot - A jackpot that grows until it is won and requires a separate buy-in.
- Rainbow Pack - Packet of assorted-colored bingo cards that allow players to play for more than one prize denomination at once. Blue cards are the least expensive, then red, green and tan - which pays the top bucks.
- Small Cards Function - game function that lets you 'zoom out' and view lots of cards at the same time.
- Specials - Novelty games with special rules, prizes etc. Often played only for people in the chat room.
- Three Eyed Bingo - You play with three cards, and the object is to complete a different pattern on all three cards. Each of the Three Eyed Bingo Cards has a big eyeball in the middle of it
- Tournaments - series of Bingo games where the player winning most games by the end of the tournament wins a prize.
- Validation - After a called bingo to determine players' eligibility for the jackpot award.
- Wild Number - The wild number is determined by the first number called in a game. For example, if the first number called is G47, then all numbers ending in 7 will qualify as a wild number and should be daubed on all bingo cards. Wild numbers are often used when playing double bingo, where a player must bingo twice on the same card to win.
